Training Facilities

Travers Island offers first-rate workout facilities, whether you're an Olympic champion or a recreational runner. The all-weather running track and athletic field are familiar turf for the New York Athletic Club's championship winning rugby, lacrosse and soccer teams, while early risers can witness the workouts of our world-class rowers as they hurtle through the water adjacent to our rowing house.

The TI Fitness Center incurred irreparable damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Plans were soon implemented to construct a new state of the art Field House that would reflect the NYAC's commitment to providing top class athletic facilities for its members. The new Field House opened in November, 2016, boasting first rate equipment, a full schedule of fitness classes for children and adults and a highly skilled staff capable of assisting everyone from Olympic athletes to weekend fitness enthusiasts. Never to be forgotten are the magnificent views of the Long Island Sound that make every workout all the more enjoyable.
