Travers Island
Travers Island Is The Nyac's Home In The Country
Located on 33 idyllic acres beside the Long Island Sound. Swimming, boating and tennis along with casual and fine dining all ensure that one visit is never enough.
Named for Wall Street tycoon, yachtsman and New York Athletic Club president William Travers, who guided its purchase in 1888, Travers Island is the NYAC's home in Westchester County. Sixteen miles north of the Manhattan City House, Travers Island's focal points are the Clubhouse, the gorgeous swimming pool, the tennis courts, the all-weather playing field, the Yacht Club, the Fitness Center and the Rowing House.
Although TI is open almost year-round, its peak season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, when the Island is alive with activity … and inactivity (sun-bathing, reclining, gazing across the gorgeous seascape). For the whole family, there is no better place than Travers Island.
